PARK OVERVIEW

Central Park boasts a very large playground housed within a much larger sports complex.

The park has shelters with picnic tables, baseball fields, tennis courts, pickleball, batting cages and more. Parking is plentiful and includes overflow lots for times when tournaments and other organized games bring in large crowds.

PLAYGROUND FEATURES

The playground has one smaller structure designed for kids ages 2-5 and one very large structure for kids 5-12.

The older kid structure is a huge complex of climbing, balancing, and sliding options that will keep kids challenged and engaged. Of all the parks in the NMB area this one is showing its age the most. Both structures reveal cosmetic fading and some defacement but still have plenty of life left in them.

know before you go

The one negative here is the lack of shade.

Central Park does have fun and intriguing play structures so don’t skip out on it entirely. If you’re going on a warm and sunny day then take precautions by bringing sunscreen and some hats. Or simply save this for the morning or evening hours.

There is one small area of tree cover that provides shade over one bench during most the day. The nearby shelters also offer some reprieve from the hottest summer days.
