3. SUMMER READING FEST: This big family-friendly event coming is coming in July!
How to get started.
Pretty much all libraries nationwide share the same core summer reading program. This year the theme is “All Together Now”. The focus is on learning, experiencing and appreciating how much we can accomplish together!
BEGIN READING & LOGGING MINUTES: Log your reading time and audio books in the Beanstack app. Be sure to visit Chapin Library to celebrate the milestones along the way!
PRIZES: Kids will earn a badge for every 100 minutes spent reading/listening this summer. Kids can spin the PRIZE WHEEL each time they earn a badge! The ultimate goal is 12 badges which means access to the invite-only party on July 26.
Music & Movement Storytime • Fridays • 10am • June 9 – July 21
special events for school-aged children
So many fun and unique things! We’ve already put a few of these on our personal calendar… Here are just a few of the dozens of events happening this summer. Be sure to keep an eye on Chapin’s calendar for them all.
NOTE: Space is limited for many of these. Check calendar to see if registration is required.
offerings for tweens, teens & adults
TWEENS & TEENS | The calendar is full of things like STEAM Olympics, writing club, pizza & games, tie-dye experiments, and some adulting skills (mental health, self-care, nutrition & fitness).
ADULTS | Adults are challenged to earn 10 badges by July 21 to get an invite to a special Murder Mystery Dinner Party! But even if you can’t do that then you can participate in the “random acts of kindness” program, attend a cooking demo, or maybe do the Chapin Escape Room!
