I have lived far too many years without properly enjoying Italian ice. I mistakenly thought it was like Kona Ice – not at all! Now that I have that cleared up I’ll be making up for lost time and enjoying this on the reg. Thankfully the Grand Strand just got the creme de la creme of the Italian ice world… Jeremiah’s Italian Ice!

In case you are not familiar (like me) here is a breakdown of these things:
Italian Ice has a creamy consistency similar to ice cream and is made from finely granulated ice and usually fruit (juice or puree) and sugar. Perfectly smooth and creamy (not at all like Kona). They have tons of fruity options but also flavors like chocolate, sea salted caramel, cake batter, mint chocolate, and a rotating menu of seasonal flavors.
Gelati is the layering of Italian ice with soft serve ice cream and the addition of toppings (if desired). They have a variety of specialty creations or you can make your own!
Soft serve is pretty obvious –– they have vanilla, chocolate and swirl.
made fresh daily
When we went for our visit we got to take a peak in the back and see them making a batch of cotton candy. The product does not come in premade. It is handmixed from real ingredients and loaded into a machine to churn for 15+ minutes. It’s then dispensed and ready to be served.
dairy free + sugar free options
There are over 20 dairy-free options on the menu and a few sugar-free options. There is a form you can access on their website with common allergens and other important dietary info.
community focus
This franchise location is owned by a local family and they’re committed to supporting our local schools, nonprofits, and other organizations. They have fundraising programs schools can use and they offer a portion of proceeds to various nonprofits throughout the year.
Also look for fun seasonal events and special happenings –– the first one being their Halloween celebration. Come by the shop for a free small gelati for the kids (5pm or later) –– just make sure they’re in their Halloween costume!
