swimsuits for moms who play (and relax)
It’s easy to find a swimsuit that’ll hold up to the demands of sit in a lounge chair and sipping a frozen drink.
It’s much harder to find one that keeps things adequately covered while hauling buckets of water 100 feet up the beach and battling the orange-flag level waves.
As full time beach residents we need a deep roster of suits that’ll go the distance. Check out our round up of the 5 tested and approved swimsuits for moms who play in the surf and sand.
brands we love and why
Well, spending a lot of money on swimsuits is no fun. But after a day on the beach it’s easy to tell the differences between a Target suit and a Tara Grinna. Swimsuits are one area where you’ll usually get what you pay for. And investing in a few great suits will serve you well over the years.
BODEN | Not familiar? It’s a British company that has timeless and classic styles. They elevate everything with beautiful prints. Their kids line is a-dor-able. But our focus is the swimsuits and they are top quality and made for movement.
Price point: $95-130. Can occasionally find a discount code but sales are rare.
J CREW | Their swimsuit selection each year always holds the classic styles and incorporates some gorgeous new prints. They hold up well. Just mind the style you get – some are more suited for the loungey-life.
Price point: $100-140 but wait for discounts & sales, which they do often.
ATHLETA | This brand does a lot of things well. Their athleisure is better than Lululemon (yep.) and their swimsuits cater to many different body sizes.
Price point: $100-130. They’ll occasionally do 20% sales but it’s rare.
SUMMERSALT | Summersalt has taken the swimwear scene by storm. And it’s for good reason. Their classic one shoulder option converts a lot of people. High quality, great prints, and flattering for all body styles.
Price point: $95-125. Best discount is $10 off a minimum purchase, usually ~$100.
AERIE | This brand might be forever associated with high school for most of us millennials. But their swim options are worth a second look. And the price point is the most attractive of the bunch.
Price point: $50-80, coupons and discounts are frequent.
