about me
My name is Amanda and I’m a mom of two (ages 3 and 6). We moved to the Grand Strand in July 2021 from Winston Salem, NC. We came with a group of 25+ people to start a new church (come check us out if you’re looking).
We have vacationed in Myrtle Beach for 20+ years and honestly were not super duper thrilled to be moving here. We remember the unfortunate reputation Myrtle Beach has picked up as dirty, loud, and even unsafe. But as we started exploring it more deeply, we have found so-much-good here! More than just what the tourists see when they visit! I started this site for a few reasons.
1 – The locals have been neglected for a long time. Seriously, nothing like this already existed which is crazy!
2 – There is so much history, nature, educational opportunities that people don’t know about! And small businesses that need to be highlighted and supported.
3 – Busy moms need a place to find the good ‘know before you go’ tips so we made one!
4 – I was already adventuring with my kids! Might as well capture the content and put it in a place/format that’s useful to others.
