PARK overview

Morse Park is such a lovely addition to the South Strand and one we visit often. It is often bustling with activity because of the playground, kayak launch and nearby restaurants but it is also a wonderful place to be still and reflect.

The park has so many beautiful natural elements and a memorial to those lost at sea. So if you can get over there in the early mornings then it’s a wonderful place to watch the sunrise or spend some time in prayer or meditation.

know before you go

It’s definitely a muti-use park because of the proximity to the water – the crabbing dock, boat/kayak launch, a small walking trail, and location right beside a few popular restaurants means it’ll see a variety of visitors but parking is never an issue during the day.

Once 4pm rolls around the park gives way to the popularity of the nearby restaurants. Parking will become difficult and restaurant patrons will be enjoying the seating and marsh views while they wait to be seated. Just something to note because it’ll certainly feel more crowded.

playground features

The park itself features one main play structure with a slide and many climbing options. There is a set of swings also.

It’s a great place to let kids enjoy playing a bit then take a walk down to the water to toss in rocks and look for wildlife before heading back to the park for more play.

The park has a couple of picnic tables, benches, and a covered shelter with another stone picnic table closer to the water. Because there is only one play structure the park can feel a little crowded during peak times so just use those instances to check out the boardwalk or walking path!
