Back 2 School Bash with Blue Butterfly | August 13 from 1–5pm

BACK TO SCHOOL BASH SPONSORED BY SEA HAVEN FOR YOUTH | August 5 from 2–5pm
LOCATION: 280 Highway 57S, Little River
WHAT TO EXPECT: Free backpacks and supplies while they last so RSVP. These are for foster, adoptive and community families.

THE HORRY COUNTY PARKS & REC DEPARTMENT IS HOSTING A BACK TO SCHOOL BASH | Aug 13, 11a–1p
LOCATION: North Strand Rec Center & South Strand Rec Center
WHAT TO EXPECT: Food, fun, and free school supplies. No registration required.
THE GRAND STRAND SPORTS ASSOCIATION IS HOSTING A BACK 2 SCHOOL BASH | Aug 6, 11am – 3pm
LOCATION: Carolina Forest Rec Center
WHAT TO EXPECT: Food and school supplies, while it lasts. Bounce houses, face painting, local vendors. Admission is free.
Jump Start Back to School with First Choice | July 30 from 9am–12pm
LOCATION: Myrtle Beach Elem School @ 950 Seahawk Way
WHAT TO EXPECT: Backpacks with school supplies, while they last. Plus back-to-school info and other community resources. Be sure to register at (866) 676-9588.
Sistas United Social Club | August 6 from 11am – 5pm
LOCATION: 307 Ronald McNair Blvd in Myrtle Beach
WHAT TO EXPECT: They’ll be giving away free backpacks with school supplies. Also raffling off free haircuts and styles to get ready for school.

LOCATION: Cedar Grove Baptist Church
WHAT TO EXPECT: Fun, food, inflatables, sand games and kids can shop the school supply “store”.
Rivertown Riders 5th Annual School Supplies Giveaway | August 6, 9am – 12pm
LOCATION: RTRC Clubhouse
WHAT TO EXPECT: Students must be present to receive a bag but all grades are welcome and there are no requirements for proof of income or residency.
Bethlehem Baptist Church | August 7 from 3–5pm
LOCATION: Bethlehem Baptist Church
WHAT TO EXPECT: Free book bags and door prizes
Stay Well Myrtle Beach & Conway | August 13 from 10am–3pm
LOCATION: Smith Jones Rec Center
WHAT TO EXPECT: This is a community health fair and backpack giveaway. An important focus of this event is to saturate the Black community with vaccine confidence and information from trusted local messengers so individuals can make the most informed decisions possible.

LOCATION: Winyah Auditorium in Georgetown
WHAT TO EXPECT: Giveaways, free school supplies, food trucks, free health screenings, fun for the kids and more. This is open to the children in Georgetown, Berkeley and Charleston Counties.

LOCATION: Litchfield Market Village
WHAT TO EXPECT: Vendors, crafters, food trucks and more!
EdVenture 2022 Countdown to Kindergarten | In partnership with SC First Step, this event is open to all rising kindergarteners in South Carolina. Come for resources from various organizations, vision and hearing screenings, dental check-ups and hair cuts.
Plato’s Closet Back to School Event | July 30 from 10am – 9pm. Clothing options for pre-teens to young adults with giveaways and other fun.
Back to School Open House with Studio 4319 | August 10, 6:30–8pm

Here is a list of organizations that support low-income families with food, clothing, furniture, and other necessities.
HELP 4 KIDS SC | No set date/time but they are the beneficiary of lots of community school supply drives. Check with them for info on eligibility and logistics. Note that the organization is also looking for volunteers and donations if you’re able to help! SEE MORE ABOUT THAT HERE.
