It’s impossible to live in Myrtle Beach and not know about Eagles Beachwear. They’re the quintessential store for any beach town. But as a local we may drive past them thinking we already have the beach day basics covered. We hit the breaks recently to take a look around and got to know this business a little better.

HISTORY | Fun fact –– Eagles Beachwear started as Eagles Beef and Beer! It was primarily a restaurant when Sam Lauren and Kathryn Glynn, a local couple started it in the 1980s. They kept a few t-shirts and hats on the first floor of their restaurant but soon realized those items were more popular and profitable. They pivoted and Eagles Beachwear was born.
16 LOCATIONS & JOBS CREATED | During Eagles 40+ years they’ve grown and now operate 16 locations up and down the NC and SC coastline. All those stores create lots of jobs and contribute to our local economy. Eagles employs between 350–500 people depending on the time of year.

BEACH TOYS & GEAR | You can never have too many beach toys. They have the necessities like towels, chairs, boogie/skim boards, sand toys, googles, balls, kites, shovels and buckets, and more. They offer both discount items and higher quality investment options in every category.
We like to start off every season by stocking up on some new shovels, kids fish nets, rashguards, googles and body boards.
CLOTHING ITEMS | Eagles has plenty of “Myrtle Beach” emblazoned gear at various price points. This is a great place to stock up on the kid items you want multiples of: rashguards, t-shirts, and tank dresses. Their long sleeve rashguards have SPF50 coverage, aren’t overly tight and should last a couple of seasons.
Many of their tanks make great options for the beach, gym, or a casual mom outfit. Their matching sets and the white woven top were favorites. They also have elevated their oversized graphic sweatshirts with trendy designs.
TRINKETS & TOYS | Eagles has more than just beach gear, of course. They have plenty of toys and trinkets that kids *love* to have: squishies, fidget toys, figurines, cars & trucks, noise makers, bouncy balls, and more. All of these items are no tech and many make good road trip toys, especially their hand held water games. You can even get a coupon for those here that makes them only $.99!
