Great for Babies & Toddlers: Lady Bug Park in Conway

lady bug park in conway

This is a sweet little park that packs a punch! It’s is an excellent pick for the youngest kiddos, for sure, but will also please older kids too. Here is the need-to-know info about Lady Bug Park located at the Conway Sports & Recreation Center on Mill Pond Road.

ADDRESS: 1515 Mill Pond Road, Conway

FEATURES: Fully fenced, bathrooms, covered picnic area, ample parking, turf grass, mostly sun.

HOURS: 7a–7p

SUMMARY: There are two sections, the Lady Bug Park area and a more traditional play structure with swings. This is a great pick for babies and toddlers since the turf ground cover is easier on crawlers.

overall

This is a large sports complex area with fitness center, senior center, ball fields and a walking trail. But there is plenty of parking and it’s easy to navigate when there aren’t large events happening on site.

There are two separate playgrounds at the complex: there is one that appears to be older and more traditional (climbing/sliding structure with swings) and the newer Lady Bug Park.

There are bathrooms and a large covered picnic shelter area. The playground areas are not very well shaded although they do have a few tarp shade coverings over the playground equipment.

the two playgrounds

LADY BUG PARK | This spot is really great and adorable. It’s bright and feels cheerful. There is a in-ground merry-go-round thing, a couple of swings, a large see-saw, a small zipline, and a climbing/sliding structure plus a few other small elements (music, spinning, balancing, etc). The park is smallish but all the elements are spread out well so it doesn’t feel too crowded.

This one is really excellent for the smallest kids. Babies and toddlers who are just beginning to walk would do very well here.

THE OLDER PART | Ahh, hate to call it that but not sure if it has another name… It’s still in great shape and is more traditional in setup. There is a climbing/sliding structure and a bank of swings. It is also fully fenced and offers some shade via tarp over the structure.
