Great news!!! The Inlet Language Center is expanding their offerings to include summer camps and more Mommy & Me classes. We think these are such a hidden gem because 1) they’re quick, interactive and incorporate lots of play; 2) they’re super affordable ($10); and 3) they have offerings for all ages and all abilities!
What are the class options?
In-person classes are offered at the Murrells Inlet Community Center at 4462 Murrells Inlet Road. The younger kid classes are Mommy & Me style and last 30 minutes. The older classes are drop-off style and last 45 minutes. They’re only $10 per class so it’s a super affordable weekly activity!
Ages 2–5 | MON: 5–5:30p; TUES: 4:30–5p; THUR: 10–10:30a; SAT: 9:30–10a
Ages 5–10 | MON: 5:30–6:15p; THUR: 10:30–11:15a; SAT: 10–10:45a
What else does inlet language center offer?
THEY ARE OFFERING SUMMER CAMPS!!! This is great! These have limited space so be sure to register soon to hold your space.
These are half-day camps, 5-days per week with kids divided by age (5–10 and 10–14). Each week has a theme and the 3-hour block will keep kids busy playing and learning. There will be time spent outside as well as on the Spanish vocabulary and fun games Mrs. Alex already incorporates into her classes.
what exactly are the classes like?
My daughter loves these classes We even took along little brother on our last visit and he (at 4-years old) loved playing the games and learning the vocabulary.
The class is packed with Spanish vocabulary and moves fast to keep kids interested and having fun. These are just a few of the elements Mrs. Alex uses: song, repetition, visuals, stories, movement, and games like bingo & hot potato.
Classes are usually small, 5-7 kids so it’s highly personalized and interactive. At the end, kids are rewarded with something out of Mrs. Alex’s bucket of toys and trinkets.
FUN AND INTERACTIVE | The classes are fun and interactive. The kids are not going to sit down at a desk and get worksheets. The teacher, Mrs. Alex, is a native speaker and she teaches Spanish at a local school. This is her passion and that comes through in the excitement and energy she brings!
SONGS AND GAMES | These two things make learning especially fun for kids in the ideal age range for this class (5-10 years old). We sang songs, we played hot potato, bingo and we sang more songs. All while practicing and using our Spanish vocabulary words.
BOOKS | Mrs. Alex will read a book in Spanish to help kids get more Spanish language intake.
For older kids and one-on-one attention
Inlet Language Center also offers 1-on-1 lessons and Spanish prep for high school age students. You can even do your lesson online if that is more convenient.
