STAR Academy is the Grand Strand’s only indoor sensory play center but they offer so much more. STAR Academy is the go-to for a rainy day, birthday parties, sensory play, educational classes and more. But they keep adding more to serve local families. Here is their line-up for summer specials, camps and clinics.

STAR Academy is a place for all kids, all ages, and all abilities to play and feel comfortable, loved and supported. The offerings at STAR Academy cover almost everything a local family could need. Here are a few of their key programs:

HOURS: Generally Mon–Sun, 10am–6pm but always check the calendar because they have classes, birthday parties, therapies and other things that may limit open play.

STEAM CLASSES | These classes offer hands on learning in science, technology, engineering, arts and math. Classes are suitable for all ages. Monday afternoons + Thursday mornings.
READY SET GO PRESCHOOL | Focused on school readiness with social-emotional foundation skills, team building, oral language, and problem solving. Best for ages 2.5–4. Monday mornings.
KINDERSTAR | The next level up from Ready-Set-Go, geared for 4–6 year olds who are homeschooled or preparing to enter kindergarten. Purchase a package for 6-week sessions. Friday mornings.
FAMILY & ME CLASSES | Classes focus on learning through song, movements and crafts for children of all ages and abilities. Class is 30 minutes of instruction/guided activities and 15 minutes of play. Thursday mornings.
Soccer Stars | Geared to ages 2–9 with sessions divided by age group (2-3; 4-6; 7-9), kids will get 1 hour of soccer instruction and skill development in their new A-B-C program (agility, balance, and coordination). Also includes a snack and indoor sensory play. Must enroll for full season. Saturday afternoons.
Family Events | STAR offers lots of opportunities for families to play together: Bingo Nights, Dance Parties, Seasonal/Themed Events, and more. Keep an eye on her weekly calendar to see the latest!

summer camps + summer sports clinic
SUMMER CAMP DETAILS | Half-day camps will be offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Campers may come for all three days or just one or two days. Price for a single day is $85, two days a week is $160 and three days per week is $225 with a discount for multiple weeks.
SIGN UP FOR INDIVIDUAL CLASSES | If you’d rather just attend a single class then you’ll have the option to sign up for that too! See the M/W/F class schedule below.
Space is limited with priority given to STAR Academy Members. Others will be accepted each week In the order they register.
INCLUDES: Indoor sensory play, team building activities, arts & crafts, snack/lunch time, sports & games, water & sand play
SUMMER SPORTS CLINIC | Bring kids to McLean Park for a 10-week program offering an intro to a variety of sports! Participants will enjoy 45 minutes of sports play and 15 minutes of free play at STAR afterwards. This program is offered in combination with Amazing Athletes of the Grand Strand.
