The Best Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Myrtle Beach and Beyond

kid-friendly restaurants in
myrtle beach and beyond

There are many things that can make a meal out with kids unenjoyable. But thankfully the Grand Strand has dozens of really great restaurants that please kids and adults. Here is our list of favorite kid-friendly restaurants in Myrtle Beach and beyond.

What makes a restaurant 'kid-friendly'?

Here are the things we generally look for:

  1. Outdoor Seating Options | Kids do better outside. This offers a more relaxed space where kids can move around.
  2. Non-Stuffy Indoor Atmosphere | If there isn’t outside seating then a non-stuffy atmosphere is imperative. A place where you order at the counter is usually more laid back vs a server.
  3. Quick Service | The less time we spend waiting for food, the better!
  4. Good & Affordable Kid Options | Dining out is a time to go with your the tried-and-true foods. We prefer places that offer some of the kids staples.
  5. Food the Adults Like Too | It’s not ALL about the kids. We love dining out and are not willing to sacrifice good food when selecting a restaurant. Thankfully being kid-friendly and yummy are not mutually exclusive.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH

CROOKED HAMMOCK BREWERY • Love the indoor/outdoor seating, nearby playground, vibes, drinks and the food is good. Don’t love as much: kids menu is a la carte which can get pricey.

Bouy’s on the Boulevard • Indoor/outdoor seating, good food. A little pricey and hard to get parking in peak season. We’ve heard they have a Kids Eat Free specials Saturdays from 11a–2p.

Cha House • Great for their drinks and quick bites. It’s Asian-inspired, has outdoor seating, quick counter service and great for lunch.

Shaka Laka Bowls • A quick spot for bowls and smoothies. Great for a playdate or playground outing.

Blueberry’s Grill • A lovely breakfast and brunch spot with outdoor seating. It gets busy though!

Cava • A new fast-casual chain bringing fresh ingredients in bowl and pita form, Mediterranean style.

Big Chill Island House • Barefoot’s newest restaurant is beautiful with tons of outdoor seating and a varied, island-inspired menu. The kids meals are ~$9 and come with one side (all the nice sides, not just fries) and they’re really delicious– their kids burger is the same mixture as the entree and the kids pasta will make you want to lick the plate. Expect $20-30 for most adult entrees.

Zeytin • Home run spot for breakfast and lunch. So fresh and flavorful in a beautiful setting with the kindest team! Kids will love Mickey Mouse waffles!

Tupelo Honey • As former Asheville NC residents this place will always be on our list. Their happy hour menu has some good apps and kid favs.

Honest Greens • From the owners of Blueberry’s Grill. This place features fresh ingredients for delicious bowls but they also have smoothies and fresh juices.

10/Fold Biscuit • A must-try breakfast spot with big flavorful biscuits and other classic breakfast foods.

Maple Street Biscuit Company • We love this spot – easy parking, quick service, creative menu and some truly amazing dishes. The Squawking Goat is WORTH IT.

Swig & Swine • This BBQ hot spot is phenomenal. The meats and sides are equally impressive. Prices are good for the quality and amount too!

Tu Taco • Small inside seating area but the flavors pack a punch. Just try to go in an off-peak time for quickest service and ease with kids.

Sneaky Beagle • Huge outside seating area and a thorough menu.

Noodles & Company • Winner for a quick, affordable and tasty family meal. With alternatives for low-carb, it’s safe for any dietary style. Kids meals feature a size and drink for just $6.25.

Loleo • Juices, smoothies, toasts. Cutest inside and outside aesthetic.

KindBelly Cafe • Healthy, locally sourced, creative and delicious. You can feel good about eating here!

MR FISH • Our new go-to seafood spot in the Grand Strand. It’s fresh, delicious, appropriately priced, and in a casual setting PLUS locally owned and operated. Here are some more pics of a recent meal there.

Bisquit • Delicious burgers and more. Has a nice covered patio space and low-key vibe.

Pawleys Raw Bar • Not yet eaten here but their fenced playground already makes it stand out for kid-friendliness.
