The Story of Wonder + Wilde

Kathryn (left) and Timmeri (right) are the local moms whose own style and interests brought Wonder & Wilde to life.

Their daughters became fast friends at preschool in 2021 and the two moms quickly bonded over their shared love of the west coast, urban/hip style that was hard to find in the coastal south.

Knowing there must be other moms feeling the same way, the idea of a “shop for cool kids” began to plant in their minds.

A Wonderland for Kids and Adults

The store has almost has too many amazing features to mention.

It’s full of color, beautifully curated clothing, thoughtfully selected toys and accessories, dozens of unique gift items, sweet treats from Butter + Whisk, a photo booth, and my personal favorite — the most beautiful restroom in the Grand Strand (must not miss). Being here will make you feel joyful and inspired.

What You'll Find

SIZES 2–12 | This is great news, especially for mamas to kiddos in the 6–12 range (me!). Lots of popular retailers make a hard transition in girls clothing around age 6/7. I am NOT ready for her (nor is she ready) to be in skin-tight, midriff-baring, teenage style clothes. At Wonder & Wilde, little girls rightly get to enjoy girlhood with fun prints, whimsy, and creative flair for several more years.

THE MOST UNIQUE TOYS & ACCESSORIES | If you need a unique gift for a child’s bday party then this will be your one-stop-shop. It’s also the place to find something unique and timeless for your own kids Easter baskets, Boo-baskets, end-of-school celebrations, birthday parties, Christmas stockings, and more. The things they carry are unlike what you’ll find online or at mass retailers. And you’re supporting the local owners of this shop and small designers/manufacturers too.

CHILDREN’S PLAY NOOK | This is built like a secret hideout with small arched doorways just perfect for a 5-year old to duck into. It’s full of toys that will keep the kids entertained while the adults shop. And kids are welcome to carefully test-drive some of the other unique toys like the Mag-Pad, Candylab automobiles, retro phone, and more.
