FINDING the perfect facial in myrtle beach
Myrtle Beach has no shortage of spas but they’re not all built the same. If you’re looking for facials and skincare services in particular then you really need to be asking the right questions. Here are some tips from a seasoned esthetician to help you find the perfect facial in Myrtle Beach.

the perfect facial – tips from an expert
Jennifer Crowe is a licensed medical esthetician at Beach Aesthetics. She has obtained additional certifications in chemical peels, microneedling and laser. And she gives a dang good facial.
As an insider, she shared some helpful thoughts on how to pick a spa and facial service. Check out these helpful tips:
FIND A PLACE THAT DOESN’T OVERWHELM YOU | If at first glance the spa menu overwhelms you, it’s a bad sign. You want options but not too many! Overwhelm can lead to uniformed choices resulting in a poor experience that doesn’t meet your needs. Jennifer likes to keep her menu simple with just a couple facials to choose from. From there, she customizes the rest based on your needs and goals.
FIND SOMEONE WHO’LL LISTEN | The goal should be to build a relationship with your provider. Go somewhere that includes time to discuss goals, your current regimen and history. A cookie-cutter approach is not what you want.
CUSTOMIZE WITH GOALS IN MIND | Once a provider understands your needs, she can make recommendations to customize and add on extra elements. Jennifer’s favorite add-ons are hydrating jelly masks, facial cupping and LED light therapy.
DON’T SKIP THE DERMAPLANE | At most spa’s a dermaplane is a pricey add on (usually $50–90) but at Beach Aesthetics, Jennifer has made it standard. Why? Because it has so many benefits – improved skin texture, evening out skin tone, smoother makeup application, and enhanced absorption of skincare products. Look for a spa that includes this or will add-on (note to stay mindful of budget when everything is an add-on though!)
GO TO THE RIGHT TYPE OF SPA FOR YOUR GOALS | The last and biggest advice is to ensure you’re going to the right type of spa! There are many types and each has pros and cons.
KNOW THE BENEFITS OF A MEDICAL SPA | The biggest advantage that Jennifer has by working in a medical spa is her ability to treat beyond just a regular “spa” facial. While relaxation is always a key component of her facials, the ultimate end goal is results. A true medical spa has oversight by a physician and advanced practice registered nurses. This enables staff to use medical treatments (ie. microneedling, deeper chemical peels, lasers/energy-based devices and use of prescription strength skincare products) to help you achieve your skincare goals.
final tip – invest in the right products
SUPPORT YOUR FACIAL WITH PROPER SKINCARE | As mentioned above, a big plus to choosing a medical spa is the guidance they’ll give you in selecting the proper medical grade products.
Even monthly facials cannot undo a poor morning/evening skincare routine. It’s like going to the gym but never changing your diet. So go ahead and plan for a skincare regimen that fits your budget.
The products to the right are some of Kirby and Jennifer’s favorites. And they’re what I’ve personally been using for 4+ months and now pledge to never go without.
With proper use all of these products will last 6 months and deliver noticeable results = WORTH IT!!!
