how will the kids do?

This was our second time seeing the show so they kinda knew what to expect. But even last year when we saw it for the first time (and when my son was still newly 3) they did great. And I think your kiddos probably will too and here is why.

THERE IS A “FUNNY GUY” | The host of the show is a quirky magician named Dizzy who warms up the crowd through audience participation, skits and quick magic tricks. His balloon skit really was the highlight for my kids and they are still talking about it! He pops in about every 15 minutes to brighten and lighten the place up. That was always a good time for me to check in with the kids to make sure they were still hanging in well.

THE PERFORMERS CHANGE FREQUENTLY | The show and performers change about every 6-8 minutes. That was a perfect pace to keep the kids from getting bored.

THE SHOW HAS AN INTERMISSION | The show is about 2 hours long and broken up by a 15-minute intermission. Each part is about 45 minutes long and I think that was the perfect duration for the kids. My son would get a little squirmy at times but overall this held his attention very well. They sell popcorn and candy at the concession stand so we were armed and ready for the 2nd half of the show!

ADULT CONTENT NOTESSome of the skits do have a humorous sexy-vibe to them but its nothing more than what you’d see on primetime TV. It’s in good fun and my kids didn’t think enough of it to ask any questions afterward. Just make a note if you’re super mindful of stuff like that. And maybe avoid the first two rows so you don’t get picked to go up on stage for one of those!

TIPS FOR BRINGING YOUNG KIDS | I showed my kids a few clips of the show from Broadway Theater’s IG page beforehand and that got them excited. Other than that it was basic stuff… potty right before the show starts and again at intermission, bring a snack or piece of gum/candy for moments when they might lose interest, and bring any comfort items that might be soothing to them if noises are a concern (a paci, stuffie, etc). My kids have a recent fear and anxiety with loud noises so these things help them stay calm through those. There really wasn’t anything too loud but sometimes kids can startle at the oddest thing so I’d rather be safe than sorry.

What will we see in the show?

The show is called Zero Gravity because the skills and acrobatics these performers demonstrate make it seem like they live in another world. They’re insanely talented and the amount of time and practice they’ve committed is so evident. Many of the performers are members of a single family with a long history in circus performance.

You’ll see performers on an Acro Pole, with a Diabolo, a Lyra aerial hoop, hula hooping, the Wheel of Destiny, trampoline acrobatics, Cyr wheel, and more.

The performers got a standing ovation at the end of our performance, which probably happens daily! Then they head out to the front lobby for photos and meet & greet opportunities.
