BEST PARK TO KEEP KIDS BUSY A LONG TIME
None of the parks in the Surfside, Socastee, Murrells Inlet or Georgetown area are massively large or particularly unique. However, they’ll still keep kids entertained for a while.
All Children’s Park and Socastee Rec Park are the two larger parks with the most playground equipment. Both also allow kids plenty of space to run around and explore their environment which can extend playtime.
best park for a quick stop
Morse and Cox Park are probably the two best choices for simple and quick playtime. Both are small with the most traditional playground equipment. Plus they’re easy to get into and out.
best park if you want to sit and not get up
There are some parks where getting a mama break is more feasible than others.
The parks of the south strand are mostly small enough to allow for good kid visibility. The proximity to water at several of these parks may keep you on higher alert than usual though.
Morse, Cox, and Swing Bridge all have water access. If kids stay on the playground itself then it’s easy to keep an eye on them from a bench nearby. Fuller, All Children’s, and Socastee are a little more spread out but still allow for great visibility of the whole playground.
if you're visiting and can only try one
You have two options, depending on your goal.
If you’re looking for a place that’ll make you feel like you’re at the beach then go to Morse Park. If you want to give the kids the biggest, safest area to run around in then make it All Children’s Park.
