park overview
Riverfront Park is in a prime location in Conway. If you’re visiting for the Farmers Market or any of the downtown shops/restaurants then you can easily stop by!
The playground is fenced in directly across from the Conway City Marina and near the Waccamaw River. The whole area is beautifully landscaped with mature trees and bright flowers. Access to the Marina Road Riverwalk is easy and worth exploring. There is a large open field, boardwalk, wooden stage, and plenty of benches for rest and reflection.
The area has restrooms and a covered picnic area. Those are both sitting just outside the fully fenced in playground.
There is a section of swings, a sit-and-spin feature, a musical section and another few small climbing activities. The play structure is good for ages 2-12. It isn’t too high and offers a large area underneath the structure for imaginative play. The playground does not get much shade during the peak hours but there are nearby picnic shelters and shaded areas by the river to take refuge.
other area features to enjoy
Conway City Marina | It’s just behind the picnic shelter. Kids love taking a closer look at the boats.
Waccamaw River | Walk over to the quiet sitting spot pictured above. It’s shaded and provides a great view of the river and a good spot for a snack.
Marina Road Riverwalk | The path keeps going out to a boardwalk, an open field, and a wooden stage. If the kids still have some energy then take a stroll back there.
Farmers Market | The park is walking distance from the Saturday Farmers Market setup spot. Good Saturday double activity!
Downtown Shops & Restaurants | The park is just a minute or two away from Conway’s historic downtown with restaurants and shops. A couple of restaurants we like are Bonfire and PIckled Cucumber.
Conway Critters | These are fun to walk around town looking for!
