North Myrtle Beach takes pride in their parks and it shows. That makes picking the best parks in North Myrtle & Little River hard! And certainly, the criteria matters since what is the best choice for you one day might not be the same for the next.
We’ve had fun reviewing all the parks of NMB and Little River so if you’d like to go on a park tour then please do but if you want the greatest hits version then scroll below.
BEST PARK TO KEEP KIDS BUSY A LONG-LONG TIME
McLean Park is a great option when you want to keep your kids busy a long time. It has a variety of play equipment and offers a chance to walk around the lake and other trails.
North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex is also an excellent pick. It’s a huge complex and the playground itself will provide plenty of kid entertainment before turning attention to any other features like Shark Wake Park or the walking trails. Check out complete reviews of both of those above.
best park for a quick stop
This mom needs no excuse to go to Yow Park. It is such a little escape from what everything else in Myrtle Beach feels like that you may convince yourself that you actually left town. And it’s small, shaded, manageable with multiple kids, and simply delightful.
best park if you want to sit and not get up
It’s always good to have one of these in your repertoire. Yow Park is at the top of the list again here. This park is small enough that you can keep an eye on kids easily. Although the park is not fenced, the nearby streets are not busy which will help bring mamas guard down a couple degrees. Hill Street is also fully fenced but not a good choice for kids under 5.
if you're visiting and can only try one
It’s tough to say which park would be the ultimate must-do if you’re only going to do one. Personal preference is certainly at play here. If you prefer a more tranquil, quaint, neighborhood vibe then it’s Yow Park. If you prefer an option is going to thrill your kids above anything else then it’s probably McLean Park or NMB Park.
