Summer in Myrtle Beach means lots to do! We rounded up some of our favorite activities and events for quick reference. Many of these are free!
Music
Music on Main Street | Weekly on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm starting in June and running through September. Held in downtown NMB at Main Street and Ocean Boulevard. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
SOUNDS OF SUMMER | The 3rd Friday from June–September at NMB Park & Sports Complex in Little River. Concert is from 7–9p.
NIGHTLY PERFORMANCES AT DOCKSIDE VILLAGE OR LANDSHARK PATIO IN BAREFOOT LANDING | There is something special happening at Barefoot every night of the week!
Great American Summer Nights at Broadway at the Beach | Nightly between 7–10pm from June until August you can catch live performances by a variety of local bands and artists.
Music in the Park | Weekly on Sundays from 4–7pm at Memorial Park in Surfside Beach. Begins in May and runs until September.
Music in the Park | Select Fridays from 6–9pm in at Francis Marion Park in Georgetown.
SUNDAYS ON THE PLAZA | Every 3rd Sunday, 2-5p, Nance Plaza & Grand Strand Brewing Co.

farmers markets
Farmers Markets | There are so many opportunities to visit a farmers market. These make excellent outings with kids because they’re usually near a park and you can get a yummy snack = the perfect morning.

movies
MOVIES AT MCLEAN | The 2nd Friday of each month from May through October, 7pm. All movies are G or PG. Bring a chair or blanket. Concessions are available for purchase by the NMB Lions Club.
MOVIES AT VALOR PARK | No 2025 schedule yet. Usually it’s the last Friday of the month at 9pm. Runs until October.
Conway’s Movies at Terrace Park | No schedule announced yet. Normally movies begin at dusk at 110 Laurel Street.
SUMMER MOVIE MAGIC | **$2.50 per ticket** The Grande 14 at Market Common will also host movies for kids/families on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 10am. Runs from June 11–Aug 6.
Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse | **$1.75 per ticket** June 2–August 7. Wednesdays at 9:30a. Certain theaters may have additional time offerings.
AMC Summer Movie Camp | Summer Movie Camp on Mondays and Wednesdays from June 23–August 13. No price info posted yet but usually $3/tix.

Summer Kid Series | **$3 each with Backstage Pass or $5 each without it**
B&B Theatre in Conway is showing some “blast from the past” movies for cheap! Shows are available Tues–Thur at 10am and 12:30pm with a sensory-friendly show at 10:15am.
Shows run from June 20–July 31.

MYRTLE BEACH PELICANS | They hold the award for the TOP GAMEDAY EXPERIENCE for any Single-A by Stadium Journal. Their games are seriously fun and especially if you go on a Family Friday theme night.

Other entertainment
BEACH HULA SHOWS | Weekly on Mondays from 7–8pm at the Surfside Beach pier. Events begin on June 10 and run through August 12. Bring a blanket or a chair. Tips are encouraged!
SUMMERFEST AT BAREFOOT LANDING | Every Tuesday and Saturday from 7–10pm starting June 6 and running until August 31. Your kids can see, talk to and get pictures with some of their favorite princesses, heroes and other movie characters.
SUMMERFEST AT BAREFOOT LANDING FEATURING NICK PIKE | Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7p and 8p you can catch a performance by Nick Pike. Begins June 3 and runs through Aug 31. He is an “America’s Got Talent” show semi-finalist who rides his unicycle, juggles and entertains kids and adults alike. You can catch him at the Amphitheater Stage in Dockside Village.
playdates, kid crafts & donating time
Crafters Cove | *2025 Dates not announced yet* Normally this event happens on: Thursdays, 9:30–11:30a in Surfside Beach at 3rd Ave South Beach Access, which is a metered lot. This starts on June 6 and runs until August 15.
The event is floating so you can get there anytime in the event window and expect to spend 20–30 minutes doing your craft. Click the link above for our notes on it from last year!
PLAYGROUND PLAYDATES | On the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 3pm the NMB Parks & Rec team offer a FREE themed playdate. This happens at the Floyd Community Center shelter on Possum Trot Road. Runs from April 16–Aug 20.
Park N Play | 2nd Tuesday of the month from April–August from 10a–12p. See the list of locations here.



Library events
Horry County Library | There are so many options of things to take your kids to at our local libraries. Storytime, family movies, music & movement, art, chess, and other educational programming.
Georgetown County Library | Check out their full list of regular events too.
Chapin Library | Chapin has so much going on for summer. But keep an eye on their calendar and website here too!

BLUEBERRY PICKING | We love Winyah Blueberry Farm (Georgetown) but Bonnie Bay (Loris) and Veritas Farm (Conway) are other options.
SUMMER LIGHTS: ART BY NIGHT | Tickets on sale now.
SUNFLOWER PICKING | In early-mid July.
TURTLE NEST INVENTORY | End of July–September. We love going to these.
RIDE THE SEAKART | A unique experience for older kids and adults.


Kids Bowl Free | This is a national program that allows kids to bowl two free games per day over the summer. Shoe rental is not included. Stars & Strikes is participating this year!
Home Depot Kids Workshops | The first Saturday of each month from 9am – 12pm your local Home Depot hosts these kid friendly workshops. You can see the crafts for June–August here.
SPLASH PADS & WATER FUN
Futrell Park Splash pad opens Memorial Day and closes Labor Day. Water is running daily from 10a-7p.
Ben Cooper in Georgetown We always enjoy this small park and splash pad. We’ve gone several times and we almost always have the place to ourselves. This park’s location may feel a little concerning but we’ve never had any safety issues.
Town Center Park in Ocean Isle Beach, NC This is a small splash pad but a great park and there is lots more to do in the area.
Fraizer Community Center, Park & Splash Pad A little drive down to Bucksport but the playground Is brand new and the splash pad is a little hidden gem.
SMITH JONES POOL IN CONWAY One of the area’s only outdoor pools!
Shark Wake Park in Little River Offers access to their water obstacle course and watersports like kneeboarding, wakeboarding, waterskiing and more.
camping, PARKS & TRAILS

River Island Adventures: They offer a variety of camping options from tree house camping, glamping, and traditional camp site rentals. There are also lots of activities to do on the property that do not require an overnight stay such as kayaking and river tubing, pontoon boat tours, etc.
PARKS GUIDE | Several parks in the area have recently received upgrades. Those include: Socastee, East Bay Park, Michael Morris Graham Park, Loris Nature Park, and Fraizer Comm Center Park (Bucksport).
TRAILS GUIDE | There are lots of trails and natural places to explore.
BIG ATTRACTIONS
Popstroke: On Tuesdays kids get a free ice cream with a purchased pass. They also get a $3 kids meal deal with an adult purchase.
TOPGOLF SUMMER FUN PASS: $250 for unlimited play for up to 5 people.
