Let’s state the obvious –– golf isn’t really known as a family sport.

I recently polled the Moms of Myrtle community and only 14% of respondents said they play as a family while 32% said their spouse plays but not mama or the kids.

Well, I get it. But there are a half dozen reasons to give it a try. We’re taking it up as a family and it’s been so much fun.

It’s all thanks to Founders Group International. They’re working hard to get more kids and families in the game by offerings free golf for kids in Myrtle Beach –– and much more. Let’s chat about it…

I’ll talk more about our own personal journey in a few weeks. But for now I want to introduce you to some of the things that Founders Group International offers to families and locals.

1. KIDS PLAY FREE WITH A PAYING ADULT | This alone blew my mind and since price is one of the biggest barriers this is an incredible offer.

The specifics vary by course but generally, it applies to kids ages 16 and under. Find more info about each course’s policies here.

Additionally they also have junior tee boxes at several courses to further cater to families and the kids who are learning to play the game.

2. FREE JUNIOR GOLF CLINICS HELP KIDS LEARN SKILLS. This is an excellent time to get kids some free instruction. Their next clinic is coming up soon. Be sure to register for a space, these are popular. It’s for kids between 10–17 years old and the CCU Women’s Golf Team will be at this one!

3. Waterway Live at Myrtlewood is returning!!! Even if you’re not into golf (yet) this is something you need to take advantage of from FGI.

These are free monthly events that include music, food trucks, kid activities, and the beautiful intracoastal waterway views at Myrtlewood Golf Course.

We’ll be at as many of these as we can make it to! It’s an excellent chance to get on a golf course to just enjoy the beauty.
