southern palmetto farms

The Squires own Southern Palmetto Farms and love sharing their rich farming heritage with the community. Their motto is “harvesting memories to last a lifetime” and if you’ve been to Southern Palmetto even once you can see how that is possible. It’s a place you go and want to stay awhile – playing, eating, taking photos, and enjoying time with friends.

themed weekends

Each weekend at Southern Palmetto Farms has a unique theme or special honoree.

Oct 7–8 | Grandparents Weekend: Will allows a grandparent in free with each paid admission!

Oct 14 | Down on the Farm: Will feature extra tractors as the Waccamaw Tractor Club joins the fun.

Oct 21-22 | Heros Weekend: Will honor 1st Responders and offer free admission for them with a paid admission (must have ID)

Oct 28 | Halloween Spooktacular: All the standard fall fun plus trick or treating and costume contest.

tips + good to know

Plan to spend 3+ hours. So much to do and we easily spend 3+ hours taking our time to enjoy it all.

Only things that cost additional are a Magic Wagon Ride ($5) and cup of feed for the animals. The Magic Wagon ride takes kids out to plant a pumpkin seed and return an hour later to harvest the pumpkin that magically grew! Any pumpkins or food purchases are also extra.

Lots of open play areas. This is one of our favorite things about this farm. There are so many areas to play so nothing feels too crowded as people easily spread out.

• Photo opportunities galore. There are so many great photo backdrops. There is even a photographer on-site to take some beautifully staged photos.

Stroller and wagon friendly. Very easy to bring a stroller or wagon.

Portapotties & seating. They keep their portapotties clean and have a very nice handwashing station. Plus there are several picnic tables and benches to take a rest.

Never too far from your car. Their parking area is very close by so you’re never too far if you need to run out for a diaper change or want to unload some items.

Hope you can make it out to "harvest some memories" this fall!

fright nights

Fridays and Saturdays (plus Oct 31st) you can come to the farm to enjoy the largest haunted attraction in Horry County. Fright Nights is more for adults and kids who enjoy a good scare. Tickets must be purchased in advance ($20 and $30 for VIP).

You can expect 3 unique haunted attractions: Wicked Woods, the Den of Darkness, and the Freak Show. You’ll have a chance to enjoy the up-front areas of the farm (concessions, slides, photo opps, fire pits and more while you wait).
