Finding things to do with a toddler in a town like Myrtle Beach can be hard. But it is getting better! This is a starting place for anyone looking for fun, simple and affordable toddler activities in Myrtle Beach.
1 – best parks for young kids
It can be hard to take babies and beginning walkers to the park. Some are better than others for this age. Here are the ones we like:
McLeod Park: fully fenced and has rubberized ground cover + a very low play structure
Palmetto Playground: has an area mostly sectioned off for kids under 5
SAVANNAH’S PARK: the front section is great for younger kids
Riverfront: has a rubberized ground cover and under the boat play structure there is plenty of space for younger kids to crawl/play. They also have adult/baby tandem swings.
Lady Bug Park: has a section with lots of low equipment and turf grass
All Children’s Park is fully fenced and has low play structures
You can find all of our park reviews here.

Ripley’s Aquarium | This is a great spot for babies and toddlers. In addition to the aquatic animals to see there is an indoor play area and hands-on learning centers.
5 – take a stroller walk somewhere
Since toddlers still don’t care too much where you cart them off to, take advantage and go somewhere you’ll enjoy! Find a nice green and shady space where you can throw down a blanket. Or somewhere with a nice path for your stroller and take a long walk. Here are some ideas.
Brookgreen Gardens | Stroll through the gardens or zoo or low-country trail.
Trails at NMB Park & Sports Complex | Most are paved and many are shaded
Riverfront Park | All paved and the playground there is decent for beginning walkers too.
Hammock Shops | Beautiful and well-shaded. Stop in Carolina Nature Nook and check out their gorgeous kids toys)
Gardens by the Sea | Has a .7 mile walking trail from this park
WARBIRD PARK | Lots of shaded trails to wander around. Head into Market Common for a juice from Loleo or coffee from Grand Strand Coffee.
THE MARSHWALK | Walk the boardwalk and get a drink from Brown Fox Coffee Box.
SHOPPING DESTINATIONS | Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, and Market Common are all easy to walk, have playgrounds and quick places to grab a bite.
7 – kid-friendly coffee shops
It is not necessary to do something kid-centric every day. Kids often have just as much fun going along with the normal activities of the family. Here are some of our favorite spots to grab a coffee/tea or other quick refreshment that are also kid-friendly.
Beach Hippie Coffee | small kids toy area
Rustic Roast | large interior w/couches
Brown Fox Coffee Box | all outside
